Domain Verification

To prevent abuse, before crawling pages on a domain with Easysearch, you must verify ownership of the domain.

Why?

Crawling a website uses the site owner’s computational resources and can be considered malicious if done without permission.

To prevent Easysearch’s public IPs from being blocked from accessing certain sites, we require domains be verified before we begin automatically crawling them.

The process only takes a few minutes; the next section will explain the process.

How?

With Google Search Console

If you already use Google Search Console, you can import your verifications.

Note

The only type of property that you can import from Google Search Console is a domain property, not a URL-prefix property. This is because Easysearch considers full domain names when looking up verifications, not URL prefixes.

1. Navigate to the Domains page
2. Click “Verify via Google Search Console”
3. Sign in with a Google account that has access to the Google Search Console property you want to verify
4. You’re done!

With a DNS record

If you have some other form of proof that you own your domain, like the ability to place an HTML file on your server or add a <meta> tag to your homepage, please contact us.
