Requirements

Here is a list of everything you need to use Easysearch:

1. A domain name

You must own a domain name or a subdomain.

2. Access to your domain name provider or Google Search Console

You need to be able to add a DNS record to your domain. This can be through your domain name registrar or through a third-party DNS provider, like Cloudflare. You can also import verifications from Google Search Console; however, only domain properties can be imported, not URL-prefix properties.

See Domain Verification for more information.

3. Ability to edit your site’s HTML code

To embed an Easysearch search page on your website, you need to be able to add raw HTML code to it. This will look different depending on your website builder or CMS, but most platforms should allow you to do this.

4. A browser that supports the admin panel

To use the Easysearch dashboard, you will need to use a modern browser with JavaScript enabled. We aim to support the two most recent versions of Chrome, Firefox, and Safari, but most browsers from the past few years should work.

Easysearch search pages should work in all browsers from the past ten years. They are designed to work without JavaScript, but users who enable JavaScript can receive search results as they type.

5. Optional: An OpenAI API Key

If you are using Search by Meaning, you will need to create your own OpenAI API key. This is free to set up, but will incur costs as documents are added and your users make queries.
